Is this a common problem with calibrating a nike plus wristband?
So I got this nike plus thing to replace my pedometer and watch.
It’s so screw up that it ****es me off!! It won’t let me pick a run to calibrate it!! I gave up on the track thing and got on a treadmill. I ran 1.380 miles exactly at a 8:34 pace (7mph… if I’m not mistaken), Incline was 2(whatever unit they use)… but that shouldn’t have affected the steadiness of a treadmill run. Oh yeah… get this, the wrist band said I ran .43 miles….
I’d say return it to nike and either get a new one (because there could be a problem with the one you have) or just get your money back..

How to Fix Timex Ironman Watch Bands
If your Timex Ironman watch band recently broke, fixing it up on your own may not be a preferable option. However, if you are well equipped and have the right amount of patience to carry out this task, you can fix it. The basic things that are required are: a new watch band that you can purchase from any of the watch outlets or via Internet and a watch band pin removing tool (which is available in the watch repairing store).
First step is to choose the place where you are going to fix your watch. This has to be ultra clean and it is advisable to use a piece of clean cloth over which you can place your watch such that the dial touches the cloth. This helps in preventing scratches that can be made to your dial. Next, you need to remove the earlier, damaged band and then place your watch over the cloth as described.
Using the pin removal tool, you can slowly force the pins out on either side of the watch. You may choose to use the same pins for your new watch band in case you were not provided with additional pins on purchase. Even if you did find your new watch bands with pins, make sure that you preserve these new ones safely just in case you may need it on account of losing one of the old ones.
The next step is to position the pins correctly against the retaining holes. Apply mild pressure from one side of the watch retaining hole so that the pin clearly reaches the other hole of the watch band. Once you are done with this, repeat the same with the other watch band on the other side of the watch.
Your watch is now ready to be worn. All that you need to do is to ensure that the pins have rested correctly and are positioned well to hold the watch bands together. It may sound like a simple procedure. However, you need extreme patience to perform this repair.
Thus, you need not worry when one of your watch bands goes out of order. All you need to do is to buy a new Timex Ironman watch band and start fixing it on your own. After you perform this repair, you will notice that your watch looks like the same brand new one your originally had.

Does anyone know if there is a battery changing kit available for changing the battery in a watch? Or, is there a way to do it at home with a specific tool? Thanks!
We are trying to bypass the jeweler if possible. My husband owns many watches and always complains of the batteries being dead. The jewelers in our area have a policy that they won’t change the battery unless they sold you the watch. We don’t even know where some of them came from!
Well…..on the back of my watch, there is a back cover plate with 4 tiny screws to lock it down to the watch. I use a small jeweler’s screw-
driver to remove them, then the cover, then the internal workings of the
watch & battery are exposed. There is also a little metal strip that goes across my battery that locks it down in place so it don’t move around or come out of it’s contact point with the watch itself. If you don’t feel like doing all of this, then go down to Wal Mart & take your
watch to the jewelry section & the accossiate will change out the battery for you with just the cost of the battery itself. Take care.
